He's closing doors and opening windows

God is good.  To say He is moving and shaking in my life right now is an understatement.  Lots of changes.  Lots to share.

First, my family is relocating to Phoenix, Arizona!  My husband has received an amazing new career opportunity with Phoenix Children’s Hospital.  After living our entire lives to date in the Midwest, we are excited to head West.  (James is particularly excited to no longer have to do yard work or shovel snow!)  It works out that our oldest daughter, Avery, is a student at Arizona State University in Tempe.  There are also a plethora of resources for individuals with disabilities that will hopefully keep Emily occupied.  I can’t wait to see what He has in store for us in AZ.

Second, with our relocation I will no longer be teaching at Ohio State.  This ending is bittersweet as I have enjoyed my time as an adjunct very much; however, this past spring semester was the most challenging I have experienced to date.  I don’t know if it was the weather or the 8:00am start time…it felt different this term.  Engagement was off.  Students struggled to get to class, which made discussions difficult.  Content felt flat.  It was hard; I was ready for the term to be over with.  But I love teaching and I want to continue, so I’m looking for something new.  I am actively pursuing new opportunities in Arizona (looking at you, ASU!)  I feel called to support the next generation of business owners and HR professionals.  (Note: I will continue to teach students online at Franklin University.)

Finally, I am thrilled to launch my new business website – www.christieengler.com!  A huge heartfelt thank you to my site designer, Jason Diaz with Upwave Studio.  Jason is amazing – he is easy to work with, he listened, he made intentional suggestions, he was diligent in his craft.  He really brought my vision to life and it’s even better than I imagined.  The idea of taking on a web design project by myself was daunting (not at all in my wheelhouse).  I’m so grateful I was referred to Jason.  This was, by far, one of the best business decisions I have made to date.  If anyone needs a real partner for website support, I am happy to make an introduction.

I hope that you will visit my site, sign up for updates, and engage with my blog posts.  Referrals for clients and speaking engagements are always appreciated.
